Rappers Kanye West and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges have been cleared by US courts of stealing another group's music. New Jersey-based act IOF accused the stars of lifting rhythms and lyrics from one of their songs for the 2003 No.1 hit "Stand Up". Defence lawyers argued that similar beats and lyrics were not unique to IOF. Speaking outside the court after the verdict, Ludacris said: "I hope the plaintiffs enjoyed their 15 minutes of fame." IOF plan to appeal against the verdict.
Oasis's Definitely Maybe has pipped the Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band to be named the Greatest Album Of All Time. The survey of more than 40,000 music fans put another Beatles' album, Revolver, in third place and Radiohead's OK Computer in fourth. British Hit Singles And Albums author, David Roberts said: "This poll shows that truly great albums always have longevity. The voters have clearly thought long and hard about their decision."
Passengers on long-haul flights could soon enjoy mile-high showers after scientists unveiled a new way of storing water on planes. Airlines haven't been able to carry enough water supplies for showers, but now experts at Boeing have found a way to treat water so it can be carried as a fine mist. The mist will then be mixed with soap so that passengers arrive at their destination feeling squeaky clean.
