Lindsay Lohan hopes her forthcoming movie I Know Who Killed Me will show the world she is a serious actress - because she's fed up with her party animal reputation. The 20-year-old recently spent a month in the Wonderland rehab center in Beverly Hills, California - but now wants her work, and not her lifestyle, to make the headlines. And the star believes her performance as a kidnap and torture victim in I Know Who Killed Me will help her achieve that aim. She says, "I don't think there has been a role for an actress like this movie was for me in so long. At first I was like, 'I can't do this, I'm getting my legs cut off. I don't want to look like that in scenes, I want to look decent.' But that was just me being young and stupid. And I have my first sex scene in it, which I always said I wouldn't do. I wanted to do this movie so people can see that I'm a f**king actress and I've been doing it forever and it's about time people see that. It felt so good to really act. I just pray people won't rip me apart for it, and be negative. The thing with the press, and why they need to leave me the f**k alone for a little bit, is because I don't want that distracting from my work. I want to get a nomination. I want to win an Oscar. I want to be known for more than, like, going out. For being the 'party girl'. I hate that. I bust my ass when I'm filming and when I have time off, yeah, I like to go out and dance."
Britney Spears took to the stage for the first time in almost three years on Tuesday night - but the California show was dogged with speculation she mimed her songs to overcome nerves. Wearing a brunette wig, boots, a pink bra top and a short white skirt, Spears kicked off her brief five-song comeback at San Diego's House of Blues with hit single "Baby One More Time." But while the packed audience, who had paid upward of $125 per ticket, seemed largely impressed with the gig, some were disappointed the star appeared to have mimed throughout the set. Fan Morgan Segall, who had flown in from San Francisco for the concert, says, "It looked like she lip-synched her way through the whole thing." The gig had been advertised as unknown band The M+Ms but internet gossip sites were rife with rumors the name was a cover for the troubled pop princess. In all, the show lasted just under 20 minutes. Earlier this year, Spears told fans of her plans for a career comeback in a posting on her own website, writing, "I look forward to coming back this year bigger and better than ever." She is reportedly recording her fifth album.
Jennifer Esposito's four-month marriage to Wedding Crashers actor Bradley Cooper is over, according to US reports. The sexy actress has reportedly filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing "irreconcilable differences" for the split. The couple wed in secret at the end of December after an 18-month courtship. A spokesman for the actress says, "Jennifer asks that you respect her privacy at this time." Cooper's representative tells Tmz.com the couple have been separated for "quite a while."
